Chalk & Fog

Privacy policy

Chalk & Fog (in Polish: Kreda i Mgła) · Effective 5 October 2026

Chalk & Fog is a game for children. We wrote this policy for parents, in plain language. If something is unclear, write to us (see Contact).

  • No accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking.
  • The game sends anonymous gameplay statistics: how levels are played, never who plays them. There is no name, no device ID and no installation ID in them.
  • You can turn the statistics off at any time in the game's settings.
  • Game progress stays on your device.
  • Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see payment details.

1. Who we are

Chalk & Fog is published by Loopwild. The data controller is: eXtensi Chudziński Jędryka spółka jawna, with its registered office in Wrocław, at ul. Rysia 1A/362, 53-656 Wrocław, Poland.

2. What the game sends: anonymous gameplay statistics

To find out which levels are too hard, where children give up and whether the opening story is skipped, the game sends short reports about game events to our own server. The reports describe events, not people: nothing in them identifies a player, a device or an installation, and two reports cannot be linked to each other.

Every report contains only these general details:

FieldWhat it is
vthe version of the report format
versionthe version of the game, for example 1.0.0
platformthe kind of system: Android, iOS, web, Linux, macOS or Windows
langthe language chosen in the game (for example en), not the language of the phone

…and a list of these events:

level_completea level is finishedwhich level (level); how long it took, as a range such as “1–2 minutes” (time); how many times the character was lost, counted up to 20 (deaths); whether everything on the level was collected and named (nothing_forgotten); whether it was finished within the target time (in_time)

intro_endthe opening story endswhether it was skipped (skipped); whether it was watched again from the settings (replay); at which picture it ended (beat)

What the reports never contain: a name or anything typed by the player, an account, an advertising ID, an installation or session ID, the device model, the exact time, or the location.

Reports wait in the game's memory and are sent at the end of a level or when the game goes into the background. They are never saved on the device: if sending fails, they are lost. Our server does not keep individual reports either. It only adds them to daily counters (for example “Level 3 was finished 120 times on this day”).

3. Your IP address

Sending anything over the internet needs an IP address. Our statistics server does not read or record it, and the server in front of it keeps no logs with addresses. The address exists only for the duration of the connection. This short-lived use is based on our legitimate interest in receiving the statistics (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Where the statistics are kept

On our own server, which stands in our office in Poland (European Union). It is not rented from a hosting company or a cloud service, so no one else handles the reports on our behalf. The statistics do not leave the EU and are not sold or shared with anyone. They contain no personal data, so they cannot be linked to you or your child; we keep the daily counters for as long as they help us improve the game.

5. How to turn the statistics off

In the game, open SETTINGS from the level selection screen and choose STATISTICS: ON. It changes to STATISTICS: OFF. From then on the game sends nothing, and reports that were still waiting to be sent are deleted. Your choice is saved on the device so the game remembers it.

6. What stays on your device

The game saves on your device (or, in a web browser, in that browser's storage) the things it needs to work: your progress (opened levels, stars, island names and restored signs), an interrupted game, your settings (language, sound, statistics), which opening stories you have already seen, and which worlds have been bought. None of this is sent to us. It is removed when you uninstall the game or clear its data.

7. Purchases

The first world and the first level of the second world are free. The rest of the second world is a one-time purchase, which is offered only after a parental check (a short task meant for adults). Payments are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies. We never receive payment details, purchase receipts stay with the store and on the device, and nothing about purchases is included in the statistics.

8. Playing in a web browser

The web version sends the same anonymous statistics as above. Depending on how it is published, the page may load the graphics engine of the game (CanvasKit) from Google's servers (gstatic.com); in that case Google receives your IP address when the page loads, under Google's own privacy policy.

9. Children

Chalk & Fog is made for children (about 9 to 12 years old). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The game has no advertising, no chat, no sharing with other players and no links out of the game. Purchases are reachable only through the parental check.

10. Your rights

Because the statistics are anonymous, we cannot find, show or delete the data of a particular person: we do not have any. You can still contact us with any question. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Poland the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), or the authority in your own country.

11. Changes to this policy

If the game starts to send anything new, we will update this page and its date before the change reaches players.
